AB40. Relationship between ZNF139 and MRP-1, MDR1/P-gp, GST-π in local lymph node metastases of gastric cancer

Objective: To investigate the expressions and significance of zinc finger protein 139 (ZNF139), MRP-1, MDR1/P-gp, GST-π in local lymph node metastases (LNMs) of gastric carcinoma.

Methods: The expressions of ZNF139, MRP-1, MDR1/P-gp, GST-π were determined with RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry in 46 paired primary tumors (PT) and LNMs of gastric cancer.

Results: The expressions of ZNF139, MRP-1, MDR1/P-gp, GST-π were higher in LNMs than in PTs (all P<0.05). In PT there was positive correlativity between ZNF139 and MRP-1, ZNF139 and P-gp mRNA (both P<0.05), and no statistical correlativity was found in PT between ZNF139 and GST-π. In LNMs, positive correlativity was found between ZNF139 and MRP-1 (P<0.05), and no other statistical correlativity was found in LNMs.

Conclusions: ZNF139 may be involved in multidrug resistance (MDR) of gastric cancer by regulating MDR-related genes, but different relationship existed between ZNF139 and MDR-related genes in PTs and LNMs.
