Vol 4, No 1 (January 2015): Interactions between the endocrine system and the gastrointestinal tract

It is well known that the relationship between the GIT and the endocrine system is multidirectional, and gut can be seen as the largest endocrine organ in the body. So the journal Translational Gastrointestinal Cancer publishes a focused issue on “Interactions between the endocrine system and the gastrointestinal tract to discuss interaction with them”. This issue is led by Dr. Gilberto Paz-Filho and Dr. Claudio A. Mastronardi from The Australian National University, Australia.

In this special issue, world-renowned authors from countries such as Australia, Brazil, Turkey and The Netherlands were selected to review the multiple interactions between the endocrine system and the GIT. We hope that researchers and clinicians can know well about those interactions, and pursue safer and more effective diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for the management of disorders affecting both systems.
