Objective: To evaluate the predictive factors LNM and prognosis in T2 gastric cancer patients.
Methods: A total of 129 patients underwent gastrectomy at Beijing University Cancer Hospital from Dec 1999 to Dec 2006 were studied retrospectively. The potential factors were gender, age, tumor location, size, depth of invasion, grade and lymphatic vascular invasion (LVI).
Results: Lymph node metastasis was positive in 66 cases, the rate of LNM is 46.5%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that LVI was independent risk factor for lymph node metastasis. The median follow up time were 60 months. Multivariate stepwise Cox regression analysis showed that age (<60 vs. ≥60), stage, LVI were independent prognostic factors of survival.
Conclusions: LVI was an independent factor of LNM and survival in T2 gastric cancer patients.
